Pull them by hand! I know it doesn’t sound fun, but if you can catch them early, you can save yourself a lot of trouble later. Spray them with a chemical weed killer such as Roundup. This is an easy and highly effective method used by many people. But more and more studies are coming out about the dangers of exposure to glyphosate, the main chemical in Roundup, so be sure you use protective gear while applying it, and avoid the area after spraying.
Use a DIY weed killer. A popular recipe is 1 gallon white vinegar, 1 cup salt, and 1 Tablespoon dish soap mixed together. This is a great natural treatment, but it may need more applications to be as effective as a chemical spray.
